About the artist:

He started to do pottery when he was 12 years old and he would go to meet tourists strolling around Mata Ortiz to sell his little pieces. He learned by watching his parents work with clay.

His works are on all different colors of clay and many different styles.  His pieces carved and painted on surfaces on which he applies graphite are breathtaking.
