JOSE LUIS LOYA
Brown surface painted with red stripes which were carved to discover the brown back.
About the artist:
He belongs to a very talented family. Four of his brothers and sisters do striking pots. Now he is in his forties but he learned to do pots from the Quezada family when he was very young.
He and his wife Ana Pena create finely crafted masterpieces with an intricate array of sweeping geometric and Mimbres designs that repeats flawlessly. The clay is a uniform soft cream color, brown, red or mixed colors ultra smooth and thin.
