About the artist

She learned the process of doing pottery from the extraction and filtering of the clay to modeling the piece by hand by her husband Miguel Lopez. Then later she learned to paint and carve the design by the very talented potter Leonel Lopez. She says that the butterflies, the nature around them and the vibrant colors that she carves onto the pieces represent her own being. She loves to paint butterflies since they simbolize transformation, renewal and change as long as beauty, freedom, joy and hope.
