About the artist:

He belongs to a very talented family. Four of his brothers and sisters do striking pots.  Now he is in his forties but he learned to do pots from the Quezada family when he was very young.

 

He and his wife Ana Pena create finely crafted masterpieces with an intricate array of sweeping geometric and Mimbres designs that repeats flawlessly. The clay is a uniform soft cream color, brown, red or mixed colors ultra smooth and thin.

 

They have gotten various prizes during the contests held in  Mata Ortiz each year.
